Cédric Andrieux ha iniziato a danzare a Brest (Francia). Ha studiato al Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse di Parigi (1993-1997). Nel 1997 ha lavorato con la compagnia di Jennifer Muller a New York. Dal 1999 al 2007 ha fatto parte della Merce Cunningham Dance Company. Ha lavorato anche con Trisha Brown, Rose Anne Spradlin, Chantal Yzermans, e partecipato alla versione newyorkese di Mauvais Genre di Alain Buffard. Dal 2007 al 2010 è stato danzatore del Balletto dell'Opera di Lyon. Sotto la regia di Jérôme Bel ha incarnato il solo autobiografico Cédric Andrieux (2009), nella serie dedicata alle vite in scena e fuori scena degli interpreti della danza.

Cédric Andrieux started dancing in Brest (France) at the age of twelve. He studied at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris. In 1997 he joined the Jennifer Muller Company in New York, starting a training as a contemporary dancer, and from 1999 to 2007 he was a member of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. In 2007 he came back to France and joined the Lyon Opera Ballet where he has been performing pieces by Mats Ek, William Forsythe, Odile Duboc, Christian Rizzo and Trisha Brown among others. He met the french choreographer Jérôme Bel in 2007 during the restaging of the piece The show must go on at the Lyon Opera. Together they created the solo Cédric Andrieux (2009) as part of a series of portraits conceived by Bel created in collaboration with notable dancers to illuminate the dancers’ lives through words and movement, combining telling details of their lives with key passages from dances that mark their journeys as artists. In this solo, danced and narrated by Andrieux traces the arc of his development in and out of the studio and on and off the stage.
