Jan Fabre (Nato ad Anversa, in Belgio) è un artista  multidisciplinare, drammaturgo, regista, coreografo e designer. Ha studiato presso il Municipal Institute of Decorative Arts and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts di Anversa. Tra il 1976 e il 1980 ha scritto suo primo script per il teatro e fatto la sua rappresentazione di debutto. Fondata nel 1986, Troubleyn/Jan Fabre è una compagnia teatrale con vaste operazioni internazionali, con la sua base di casa ad Anversa. Fabre è famoso per la sua arte a Bic (disegni con penna a sfera). Nel 1990, ha coperto un intero edificio con questi disegni. Egli Esplora le relazioni tra disegno e scultura. Realizza anche sculture in bronzo (tra i quali l'uomo che misura le nuvole e la ricerca di Utopia) e con i coleotteri. La decorazione del soffitto del Palazzo reale di BruxellesHeaven of Delight è ampiamente lodato. Nel 2004 fece erigere Totem, un insetto gigante bloccato su un ago di 7 piedi in acciaio, su Ladeuzeplein a Leuven. Nel 2008,la mostra Angel of Metamorphosis di Fabre è stata esposta al Museo del Louvre.

Jan Fabre (born in Antwerp, Belgium) is a multidisciplinary artist, playwright, stage director, choreographer and designer. He studied at the Municipal Institute of Decorative Arts and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Between 1976 and 1980 he wrote his first scripts for the theatre and made his debut performances. Established in 1986, Troubleyn/Jan Fabre is a theatre company with extensive international operations, with its home base in Antwerp. Fabre is famous for his Bic-art (ballpoint drawings). In 1990, he covered an entire building with ballpoint drawings. He explores the relationships between drawing and sculpture. He also makes sculptures in bronze (among them The man who measures the clouds and Searching for Utopia) and with beetles. His decoration of the ceiling of the Royal Palace in Brussels Heaven of Delight is widely praised. In 2004 he erected Totem, a giant bug stuck on a 7 foot steel needle, on the Ladeuzeplein in Leuven. In 2008, Jan Fabre's The Angel of Metamorphosis exhibition was on display at the Louvre Museum.
