Billy Bultheel, compositore e performer di origine belga basato tra Berlino e Bruxelles. Ha studiato Composizione e Musica Elettronica all'Istituto di Sonologia del Koninklijk Conservatorium all'Aia conseguendo in seguito un master in performance e coreografia in Germania. È stato assistente artistico del coreografo William Forsythe e ha co-fondato New Forms of Life, un progetto cooperativo che lavora sulla mappatura e sull'attraversamento dell’attualità attraverso la performance. Il suo lavoro compositivo si concentra sulla polifonia medievale, sullo spazio inteso come sintetizzatore, e sulla integrazione di musica e performance. Oltre al suo lavoro, scrive musica per diversi artisti tra cui Anne Imhof (la colonna sonora originale di Angst e Faust per la Imhoof sta per essere pubblicata sull'etichetta PAN), Ari Benjamin Meyers, Michele Rizzo ed altri. Il suo lavoro più recente è Signs of Invasion (2018), un'opera musicale per un ufficio abbandonato.

Billy Bultheel is a belgian composer and performance artist based between Berlin and Brussels. He studied Electronic Music Composition at the Institute of Sonology in the Koninklijk Conservatorium, The Hague, and completed a master's degree in performance and choreography in Germany. He has been dramaturgical and artistic assitant of choreographer William Forsythe at the Forsythe Company and co-founded New Forms of Life, a co-operative project working on mapping and traversing the present reality through performances. His own work focusses on medieval polyphony, space as a synthesizer and the congregation of music and performance. Next to that, he writes music for artists like Anne Imhof (the original score of Angst and Faust for Imhoof to be released on the label PAN), Ari Benjamin Meyers, Michele Rizzo and others. His most recent work is Signs of Invasion (2018), a musical play for an abandoned office space.
