Gaëlle Boucand è un’artista francese interdisciplinare che lavora principalmente con film documentari, presentati a diversi festival e spazi artistici a partire dal 2010. Dopo la laurea in Belle Arti a Parigi, si trasferisce a Berlino dove sviluppa un lavoro di stampo multimediale e partecipa a diversi progetti legati alla vita berlinese: arm&sexy, party nomade a cadenza mensile che raduna due anime opposte ed emblematiche della cultura berlinese, Spre-chkontakt mit Müggelturm, progetto collegato a due torri storiche situate nella periferia della città, e Ins Blickfeld gerückt, progetto curatoriale incentrato sulla collezione degli archivi di centinaia di artisti. Nel 2010 porta a termine il suo primo lungometraggio, Gone to Croatan, documentario dedicato al mondo della musica elettronica underground a Berlino. Il suo secondo documentario JJA, che ha debuttato nel 2012 al International Film Festival di Marsiglia con  menzione speciale FID 2012 e ha vinto altri tre premi al festival Côté Court, Prix Arte Creative e festival Hors Pistes/Centre Georges Pompidou, è stato presentato in cinema, musei e festival. I suoi lavori visivi sono stati presentati in contesti internazionali tra cui a Parigi il Musée d’Art Moderne, il Palais de Tokyo, e la Kadist Foundation, e a Berlino al Bethanien e xavielaboulbenne. Attualmente Gaëlle Boucand sta scrivendo il suo primo film di fiction.

Gaëlle Boucand is a french interdiscipinary artist who works mainly in visual arts and cinema contexts since 2010. Born in Paris, she graduated from Paris Beaux-Arts. She also studied at the Cooper Union in NY, and was a resident of Pavillon-Palais de Tokyo in 2007. Right after she moved to Berlin where she developed a multimedia work and participated in different collaborations implicated in the Berlin city life: arm&sexy, a monthly movable party gathering two emblematic and opposite sides of the berliner culture, Spre-chkontakt mit Müggelturm, an in situ project dealing with the story of two historical towers at the edge of Berlin, and InsBlickfeld gerückt, a curatorial program based on a collection of a hundred artist archives, presented in the French Institute. In 2010, she finished her first feature length documentary movie Gone to Croatan that deals with the berliner electronic music underground world. Her second documentary JJA was shown in several cinemas, museums and festivals, like Hors Pistes/Centre Georges Pompidou, Kasseler Videofest, Rencontres Internationales or FIDMarseille, and it won three prizes. Her visual work was exhibited internationally, notably in Paris at Musée d’Art Moderne, Palais de Tokyo, Kadist Foundation, and in Berlin at Bethanien and xavielaboulbenne. She is now writing her first fictional feature film.
