Lo Spazio Carbonesi accoglie la performer e coreografa Antonia Baehr con il progetto in progress Beginning with Abecedarium Bestiarium. Se il chiodo fisso di Baehr è esplorare la possibilità di separare un’espressione dal suo substrato emotivo, non può che incuriosire l'avvio di un nuovo lavoro sulle affinità in cui setaccia sonorità, gesti e caratteri appartenenti a bestie e uomini. Un'indagine sulla fluidità identitaria, oltre l'antropocentrismo e la binarietà natura/cultura.

Il primo Salon tenuto da Baehr si intitola D is for Dog, If a human has a dog, a dog has a human ed apre una nuova serie di soli di Antonia Baehr: un ABC performato sull'Animalità, capace di mescolare il concerto vocale, il record spinning, la conferenza etnologica e il ricalco su lavagna luminosa. D is for Dog è un invito ad entrare nell'intricata intimità relazionale tra compagni di specie. Tocky Von Arnim e Bettina Von Arnim vivono assieme nella stessa casa da quattro anni. Non parlano la stessa lingua, sono certamente diversi, eppure sono incrociati. In D is for Dog, Antonia Baehr presenta un ritratto acustico soggettivo delle affinità tra sua madre e il suo cane: è possibile leggere la casa che condividono come partitura delle storie di canini/umani che vivono assieme? Che linguaggio emerge da questo interminabile duetto del tran tran quotidiano, da queste coreografie delle affinità?

Spazio Carbonesi welcomes the performer and choreographer Antonia Baehr with the project-in-progress Beginning with Abecedarium Bestiarium. If Baehr’s fixation is an attempt to separate expression from its emotional sub-layer, then this new work, which sifts together the sounds, gestures and characters of men and beasts, cannot fail to excite curiosity. This is a study on identitary fluidity, beyond anthropocentrism and nurture/culture duality.
A Bestiary of agencies, kinds of relatings, and scores of time trump the imaginings of even the most baroque cosmologists. For me, that is what 'companion species' signifies. (Donna Haraway -The Companion Species Manifesto - Dogs, People and Significant Otherness)

This Animal ABC opens a new series of Antonia Baehr solo performances and combines a vocal concerto, record spinning, an ethnological conference and tracing on an overhead projector. D is for Dog is an invitation to enter into the intimacy and complexity of companion species relationship. Tocky Von Arnim and Bettina Von Arnim have been living in the same house since nearly four years. They do not speak the same language, they are hardly alike and yet, they have assembled. In D is for Dog, Antonia Baehr sketches a subjective acoustic portrait of the affinity between her mother and her dog: can the house they share be read as the music/dance score of the stories of canine-human living together? What kind of language emerges from this long duet of everyday comings and goings, of these choreographies of affinities?
