Per Margherita Morgantin il corpo e l’esperienza dell’artista entrano a far parte degli strumenti scientifici utilizzati per la ricerca sul campo. Così è stato nel processo di ricerca artistica del progetto VIP=Violation of the Pauli exclusion principle, che ha avuto luogo SOTTO LA MONTAGNA del Gran Sasso, nel più grande laboratorio sotterraneo al mondo dedicato alla rilevazione di fenomeni rari ed eventi fisici che non dovrebbero avere luogo, grazie al 'silenzio cosmico' garantito da un massiccio strato di rocce che lo separa dall'atmosfera; e SOPRA LA MONTAGNA, sugli altipiani del Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso in un'area ambientale importante per la sua biodiversità d’alta quota. Le fluorescenze (la ri-emissione nello spettro del visibile di radiazioni ricevute) hanno siglato una serie di interventi sonori e installativi di Morgantin in collaborazione con musiciste e manipolatrici del suono. Il live COSMIC SILENCE 4, fluorescence 3 è una partitura aperta per testo e suono in dialogo con la compositrice di musica elettronica Ilaria Lemmo, a partire dagli spettri d’onda subnucleari dell’esperimento VIP.

For Margherita Morgantin the artist’s body and experience become part of the scientific instruments used for field research. This was the case in the artistic research process of the project VIP=Violation of the Pauli exclusion principle, which took place UNDER THE MOUNTAIN of Gran Sasso, in the largest underground laboratory in the world dedicated to the detection of rare phenomena and physical events that should not take place, thanks to the 'cosmic silence' guaranteed by a massive layer of rocks that separates it from the atmosphere; and ABOVE THE MOUNTAIN, on the plateaus of the Gran Sasso National Park in an environmental area important for its high altitude biodiversity. Fluorescence (the re-emission in the visible spectrum of received radiations) sealed a series of sound interventions and installations by Morgantin in collaboration with musicians and sound manipulators. The live COSMIC SILENCE 4, fluorescence 3 is an open score for text and sound in dialogue with the electronic music composer Ilaria Lemmo, starting from the subnuclear wave spectra of the VIP experiment.
