Study for a Portrait

 ZimmerFrei

produzione Netmage 06

The project commissioned to ZimmerFrei is grafted onto the festival in the form of a residence with a daily public aperture. Prototypes will be created for their nascent project 'periodic portrait', long-duration visual incisions where several festival guests and others pre-chosen will be exposed, stratifying time in their presence.
Let's imagine frontal icons, realized with video technology, accompanied by an analogue treatment of the sound that contains the density of a long, all but immobile time.

The aim is to test the level of permanence in a body. To succeed  at visualizing it as a powder, dense and vibrant with particles of gregarious indole, internally in constant movement. The body in the present moment does not stay still even for a second. The grasping electric bonds that stretch the material and define it as a unique and single entity are dynamic by nature. But if this custom of curd matter were to become less? If the space that separates the particles from each other were progressively augmented until the proportions between full and empty were inverted?
In this process of fluidification, the subject no longer tries to detach itself from the background. Instead it becomes plural and melts into the surrounding surface, confusing itself with the architecture, managing to live for several precise moments in time with insistence, still maintaining a specific light, profundity and volume.
